Peaceful, dreamy, romantic, adventurous...all words our passengers have used to describe a balloon flight with Images Aloft. From ages 8 to 80, we’ve taken our guests on the ride of a lifetime. The world looks different from the basket of a balloon. Some say it feels as if the balloon was perfectly still and the earth was passing by beneath you. Sounds on the surface such as barking dogs and laughing children can be heard quite well at 1,000 ft. An experience you won’t soon forget!
Your adventure early begins early in the morning at sunrise, or late in the day an hour or two before sunset. You’ll meet with our FAA Certified pilot and chase crew and observe the preparations as the balloon is inflated for flight. You’ll leave your earthly cares behind as you float above the tree-tops and look down on the world from a totally new perspective.
As you float over the countryside, our chase crew will be in hot pursuit on the ground, and after a one hour flight will welcome you back to earth. We often touch down in parks, schoolyards or backyards. An airport isn’t necessary for arrival by balloon! You’re likely to meet new friends as we share a traditional champagne toast with the landowner and celebrate your introduction to the old-world art of ballooning. Each passenger is rewarded with a lovely cloissone pin of the balloon,
to remember the occasion.
A balloon ride is the perfect experience to celebrate a birthday, anniversary, or even a marriage proposal. We have staged airborne weddings in a balloon...the perfect setting to toss the bouquet!
A handsome gift certificate is available. We fly all year long, although most passengers choose to fly in the spring or summer. Fall foliage flights are very special...don’t forget your camera!
Take an introductory lesson with one of our FAA certified flight instructors, and get a hands-on experience in the old-world art of hot-air ballooning. Like any aircraft, balloons are federally registered and licensed, as are the pilots who fly them. To qualify for the balloon pilot’s license with the Federal Aviation Administration, the student needs 10-15 flights with an instructor. We teach all the basics of ballooning with an FAA approved syllabus and lesson plan. Weather, aviation law, and ballooning theory are an important part of pilot training. We offer training in our balloons or yours. It is a distinct privilege to become licensed pilot, and it may be easier than you think!
We provide a distinctive gift certificate suitable for all occasions. The recipient contacts us directly to schedule their airborne adventure. We fly all year long, though many passengers prefer spring thru fall. Our flying area includes southern Indiana and central Kentucky, USA.
